We Need You!
Do You Have What it Takes to be a Lodge Officer?

Do you possess the dedication, time and energy to be in a youth leadership position within the Lodge? The Order of the Arrow is a brotherhood of Scout campers led and run by youth leadership and guided by adult advisers. Being a Lodge Officer will teach you a great deal about yourself and how well you can set your own goals and work to achieve them. If you are interested in becoming a Lodge Officer please review the Lodge Officer responsibilities contained in the Lodge Operating Procedures.

The process for election is very simple and is detailed in the Lodge Rules. Candidates for a lodge position must submit a formal Nomination Form on or before the Saturday morning of Fall Fellowship to the Lodge Chief or his designee. The nomination form must be approved by the candidate's Parent, Primary Unit Leader, Chapter Adviser, and Lodge Adviser.

Each candidate will participate in a forum Saturday afternoon at which time each candidate will be given a few minutes to speak and tell the Lodge members present why they feel they should be elected. On Saturday night of Fall Fellowship, the general meeting of the Lodge will be opened and an election conducted in accordance with the Lodge Rules.

A Lodge Leadership Development Course (LLD) will be held in January to instruct officers in the duties of their respective office. No officer is alone in their leadership; there are many adult advisers as well as past officers who are willing and able to help.

Any youth (under 21) in the Lodge can be a Lodge officer.

This book provides support for lodge and chapter leaders. It reflects the current policies concerning the organization and administration of the Order of the Arrow Lodge. All lodge and chapter officers and s should have a copy.
