Lodge Day Of Service
Saturday, October 20th
Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area

Cochran Shoals Unit , Columns Drive Entrance

Brothers,

On Saturday, October 20, 2018, our Lodge will join forces with the National Park Service to perform a community Day of Service. The focus of this service project will be trail building and maintenance in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. We will assemble at the Columns Drive entrance of the Cochran Shoals unit.

Directions and GPS coordinates are available here: https://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/unitdirections.htm

Parking: Do not park in the visitor parking lot or pay the parking fee. We will park our cars inside the gated area to avoid congesting the visitor parking lot.

  • Times/Schedule:

    • 8:30am - 9:00am - Registration
    • 9:00am - 12:00pm - AM work period
    • 12:00pm - 1:00pm - Lunch
    • 1:00pm - 4:00pm - PM work period
    • 4:00pm - Wrap up

Wear work clothes with an Egwa t-shirt. Bring work gloves, water, sack lunch and rain gear. (We will work rain or shine unless the Rangers decide we are doing more harm than good :)

All participants will need to complete the Volunteer Services Agreement for Natural Resources Agencies, http://www.aacegwa.org/Docs/Volunteer_Services_Agreement_OF-301A.pdf and bring it to the Day of Service. If you are under 18 years old make sure and have it signed by a parent/guardian. Also bring a copy of your current BSA Annual Health and Medical Record.
