2012 - 2013 Where To Go Camping Guide

Dear Scouts & Scouters,

Welcome to Egwa Tawa Dee’s 2013 Where To Go Camping Guide! This guide is a source of information about camping locations and opportunities in and around the Atlanta Area Council and our Section for Scouts and Scouters. It contains iformation that Scouts and Scouters need to know before going camping like BSA policies, standards, etc., and information about the BSA camping awards and recognitions. Also toward the end you will find an appendix with many useful forms and documents that will help answer any questions you have about Scouting.

As the Vice Chief of Program for Egwa Tawa Dee Lodge, it is my responsibility to update the Where To Go Camping Guide and I am proud that I was able to contribute to this year’s edition. I hope you enjoy the different sections of the guide and I hope that you decide to go camping at a few of the camps mentioned in this guide.

One very important thing that I hope that you look at is the Where to Go Camping Guide Submission Form at the very end of the guide. It is to let other units know about other great places to camp in Georgia and the surrounding states. So feel free to take some time and fill out the form because without your help, we may never know about some of the great camps that are out there. So help us out and share these wonderful places.

This year also marks the 75th anniversary of Egwa Tawa Dee Lodge so that means it is the diamond year of the honor camping society in Atlanta so thank you to everyone for camping and adding to this guide.
