Welcome to Egwa Tawa Dee’s 2011 Where to Go Camping Guide! This publication is a source of information about camping for Scouts and Scouters. The first section contains information about camping locations and opportunities in and around the Atlanta Area Council and our Section. Following that, you will find information that Scouts and Scouters need to know before going camping like BSA policies, standards, etc. Thirdly, you will find information about the BSA camping awards and recognition. An appendix with many useful forms and documents completes the guide.

It is the humble duty and privilege of Egwa Tawa Dee’s Vice Chief of Program to edit the Where to Go Camping Guide and, in doing so, leave his mark of service to the lodge. In this edition, I concentrated not only on the content of the guide, but also on streamlining the guide and improving upon the words of my predecessors. I hope you will find that the result is a much more aesthetically pleasing guide and, more importantly, one that is easier to read, so that you can concentrate more on what the words say than how they say it. I hope that you will take the time to check out a few of the places described inside.

One very important part of this publication is located on the very last page: the Where to Go Camping Guide Submission Form. We at Egwa Tawa Dee are always looking for new places to camp, so if you have found a place that you think others should know about, then please fill out that form and mail it to the address provided so that we can share your good fortune with others.
